Pineapple Party

Old and new are combined in this masculine birthday card.  I love the combination of Early Espresso and Crumb Cake card stock! This simple card has the two piece pineapple stamp (retired) embossed in clear Stampin' Emboss powderAdorning Accents Edgelit and matching embossing folder on Early Espresso CS for the binding and one of the Pretty Petites stamps punched with the  Petite Curly Punch for the greeting. So easy but so beautiful!

Items used: Early Espresso (119686) & Crumb Cake (120953) CS, Versamark ink, Early Espresso, Gumball Green & Daffodil Delight Stampin' markers, Clear Stampin' Emboss powder (109130),  heat tool, embossing buddy, Adorning Accents Edgelit (125595) and embossing folder (125601) , Pretty Petites stamp set (129639-SAB), Fresh Fruit stamp set (retired) , Petite Curly Punch (129405-SAB).

What I Love About Stampin' Up! ~ 2

Pool Party and Tangerine Tango with Madison Square Designer Series Paper (Sale-a-bration exclusive) and Color Coach Color Matching Cards
Another thing I love about Stampin' Up! is the easy coordinating of colors. Not only do they have color families (Subtles, Regals, Brights & Neutrals) that look wonderful together but two sets of beautiful InColors that change every year. The InColors keep my cards looking fresh and up to date.

They also have a Color Coach (#120148), which is essentially color flash cards to aid me with ideas for color combinations.

But the thing I love most is that they have ink that matches card stock that matches designer paper that matches ribbon, markers, brads, buttons embossing powder...well, you get what I mean. Before Stampin' Up! I spent most of my time trying to find items in my craft room that wouldn't clash. Then I'd go to the craft store and search up and down for something that would work with what I already had, usually failing. With Stampin' Up! products I can forget searching for materials and GET CREATIVE!

Love Simplicity

When it comes to cards I tend to lean toward simplicity.  Not that there is anything wrong with fancy, I just have to work very hard at it. This card was made in about 5 minutes and I think it is beautifully simple. Just three stamps,  a little ink and some cutting tools. If you like the stamps they are Sale-a-bration freebees!
Items used: Whisper White cs, Bloomin' Marvelous, Pretty Petites stamp sets, Raspberry Ripple, Pretty in Pink, Gumball Green ink,  Petite Curly Label punch, Big Shot, Adoring Accents Edgelit, Adoring Accent Embossing Folder;

What I love about Stampin' Up! ~ 2-step Stamping

The thing that first got me excited about Stampin' Up! 9 years ago was their 2-step stamp sets.  No longer did I have to stamp an outline and color it in.  With 2-step stamping you can quickly make a beautiful watercolor-like image with absolutely no skill in painting.
1. Stamp a lighter color with the solid stamp.
2. Stamp a darker shade of that color with the detail stamp.
3.Add some leaves in a lighter green.
4. Stamp leaf detail in a darker green.
5. Add a little filler with the baby's breath stamp.

Finished!
The stamp set I used here is a retired set called Watercolor Minis. Although it is not longer in our catalog here are a few current sets that are also wonderful for 2-step stamping:
122765 (wood) 122767 (clear) Raining Flowers p. 73
122760 (w) 122762 (c) Field Flowers p. 78
126445 (w) 126447 (c) Summer Silhouettes p.82
123802 (w) 123804 (c) Gently Falling p. 86
