Envelope Punch Board Cards!!

My most recent obsession is the Stampin' Up! envelope punch board.  Not only can I make an envelope for any size card I am in the mood to make but I can make pretty envelopes out of designer series paper.

But I have really had fun making the file folder cards made so easily with the envelope punch board.

Double Tab File Folder Card

Depending on the paper and the embellishments you use, this card can work really well for a masculine card.

Step by step instructions:
1.) Cut cardstock  to 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scoring the long side at 4 1/4"

2.) Line up the left hand side of the short side of the card in the envelope punch board and punch.

3.) Move paper so the side lines up with 3" on the punch board. Punch again

4.) Flip paper over and repeat.

5.) Using your paper trimmer cut off right hand side tab (the one that is not curved on the end.) Flip paper and cut off the other right side.

6.) Round Corners where you cut the piece off.

7.)  To cut designer series paper for the front cut the paper to 5 1/4" x 4". Use the envelope punch board to make the tap just like you did for the card base but instead of moving the paper to 3" to make the second punch move it to 2 7/8" and punch.  Cut off the extra piece and round the corner. This should make it fit perfectly!

8.) Decorate as you wish!

Magical Masking Tape Technique

Ready to try something new?  How about the Magical masking Tape technique?  It's quick and easy and I love the effect!

Step 1) Tear off a piece of masking or painters tape.

Step 2) Lay it on your ink pad sticky side to the ink and press down with your fingers to cover the
whole piece of tape with ink.

Step 3) Carefully pick up the tape and place it on your cardstock.  Cover with a piece of scrap paper and rub gently with your fingers.

Step 4) Carefully peel the tape off of your cardstock.

Step 5) Finish your project.

Let me know what you think about this technique.  I'd love to see your Magic Masking Tape creations. Post your pictures or your link here!

Have a great day!
