The evolution of an idea

When I got my pre-order from the brand new catalog a couple of weeks ago I was so taken with the new InColors that I set out to use them with the new stamp sets I ordered. Above is Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock with the Coastal Cabana ink on the tag.  I accented with pool party ribbon (sale-a-bration 2013.) A quick and easy card.

For the next card I kept the same color scheme but added some contrast by using the fancy fan embossing folder on the background piece of cardstock.  With the color on color of the Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock I think it is a nice effect.
By the time I got around to making some birthday cards I decided to put the little lacy doily behind the upper half of the circle rather than the lower half. Then to provide contrast on just the lower half of the card I dry embossed the bottom half only of the background cardstock. This time using Strawberry Slush. Instead of ribbon I used the new Washi tape from the Gingham Garden suite across the center of the card.

Which of the three do you like best?

Beautiful New InColors!

I am in love with the new InColors! Get these color names:  Baked Brown Sugar, Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe, Coastal Cabana, and Strawberry Slush.  The only InColor I didn't use on the front of this card is Strawberry Slush.  You can't see it but I did stamp the back with it. These colors remind me so much of carefree summer days of years gone by.

The stamp sets used are Mosaic Madness and Label Love. The punches used are the Mosaic, Artisan Label and Decorative Label.

You can start shopping in the brand new catalog on May 31.  Keep visiting this blog for more pics of creations made with new items. Or even better sign up to get it emailed to you! Just type in your address in the box under the blue shopping basket.

Mother's Day. Teacher appreciation. Just because. Say thank you with this no-maintenance bouquet. There's no watering, no weeding-just enjoying. This easy-to-assemble kit comes complete with the petals, stems, and buttons to create the flowers, as well as four different tags to make this the perfect gift for any occasion. All you need is some paper, ribbon or a vase to add the finishing touches to the bouquet. As if that weren't enough, the kit contains a "baker's dozen"! This means you can create and give (or keep) a dozen flowers, and have a bonus flower left over to pass along to someone new! Give it to someone you wouldn't normally think of: a teller at the bank, a grocery store clerk, or the librarian at your local library. Anyone you encounter on your way that you'd like to give a little "thank you" to.

New Photopolymer Stamps from Stampin' Up!

We've searched long and hard for just the right material to be able to introduce completely clear stamping. And we've found it. We're excited to announce that we now have wood-mount, clear-mount AND photopolymer stamps! The new photopolymer will be an addition to our stamp line and will appeal to all types of stampers. Our top-quality photopolymer has just enough give to create a perfectly stamped image every time and with the introduction of our firm-foam pads, let's just say they're meant for each other! Photopolymer stamps will also be unique, fun designs that will inspire you and provide more versatile options you may not see in our traditional wood- and clear-mount stamp options.
What makes them so great?
  • They're entirely transparent for perfect placement every time!
  • They are durable. The photopolymer material is designed to last.
  • Can you say sticky? (Don't worry; in a good way.) These stamps stick amazingly well to our clear blocks.
  • They're age tested. They won't yellow or cloud up over time.
  • They use FDA, food-safe material. How far can you stretch your stamping creativity?
  • We could go on, but we'll let you try them for yourself.
They are clearly a great choice.
